Strategic Partnership and Research Goals

Wipro has formed a partnership with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and the Foundation for Science Innovation and Development (FSID) to drive advanced research and innovation across emerging technologies.

The collaboration is aimed at speeding up progress in areas such as agentic systems, embodied intelligence, quantum technologies, and quantum-safe solutions, helping enterprises build more secure, adaptive, and autonomous digital operations.

As part of the agreement, Wipro and IISc will set up a joint research initiative focused on quantum computing, sophisticated foundation models, secure digital infrastructure, and new methods for creating autonomous networks.

This program will bring together IISc’s senior faculty members, researchers, and scientists alongside Wipro’s engineers, architects, and technology specialists.

Through this partnership, Wipro expects to strengthen its ability to deliver next-generation intelligent capabilities for industries including telecom, manufacturing, financial services, and healthcare.

Wipro stated that the alliance will be further supported by the Wipro Innovation Network, enabling co-innovation, faster enterprise transformation, and scalable solutions for complex business needs.

Wipro’s chief technology officer, Sandhya Arun, noted that the partnership is designed to tackle some of the toughest problems and high-impact opportunities faced by global organizations in a fast-changing technology environment.

Industry Impact and Institutional Benefits

The collaboration is expected to help Wipro build industry-ready platforms, scalable models, and new intellectual property that will be offered through Wipro’s WINGS and WEGA delivery platforms.

These new capabilities will also support industry-specific solutions and innovation programs within Wipro Intelligence.

For IISc, the partnership brings expanded research capacity, stronger industry validation, and greater opportunities for technology transfer and commercialization.

Rajesh Sundaresan, dean of IISc’s Division of Electrical, Electronics, and Computer Sciences, highlighted the long-standing relationship between IISc and Wipro and said the latest collaboration enhances the institute’s ability to advance work in intelligent systems, digital infrastructure, and secure computing.

The focus areas include autonomous network intelligence and advanced agentic systems for telecom and connectivity sectors, along with embodied intelligence, optimization frameworks, and secure computing methods to strengthen resilience in financial services, energy, supply chains, and critical infrastructure.
