Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has launched a new Oracle AI Data Platform Lab and Center of Excellence in Kolkata as part of its efforts to strengthen enterprise AI and data transformation capabilities.
Located at Delta Park Lords in Kolkata, the facility was developed in partnership with Oracle and is designed to help businesses overcome challenges such as fragmented data systems, slow analytics processes, limited AI scalability, and operational inefficiencies.
The company said it plans to expand the initiative by setting up four additional Oracle AI Data Platform Labs and Centers of Excellence across India over the next three years.
The new lab arrives at a time when technology service providers are increasing investments in AI-focused innovation hubs and industry-specific platforms to help organizations move AI projects from experimentation to large-scale deployment.
According to TCS, the center will provide customers with reusable frameworks, industry-tailored solutions, and accelerators that can transform enterprise data into actionable insights while enabling greater automation through AI-powered processes.
The facility will be powered by Oracle technologies, including Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Oracle Autonomous AI Database, and Oracle’s enterprise AI tools.
Sudipto Ray, Vice President and Global Head of Oracle Practice at TCS, said the lab is intended to speed up the transition from AI concepts and testing to enterprise-wide implementation. He added that the combination of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and advanced AI technologies will help businesses enhance data analytics capabilities and accelerate application development.
TCS currently supports customer AI initiatives through a centralized team of around 26,000 Oracle-skilled professionals based in India.
The launch also highlights the growing trend of collaboration between major IT services companies and global technology providers as enterprises increasingly seek integrated AI, cloud, and data platforms instead of standalone technology deployments.
