Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has landed a new long-term technology services deal with Canada Life, one of the leading insurance and pensions providers in Europe.

The agreement will see TCS take responsibility for upgrading and managing key parts of Canada Life’s IT infrastructure as the insurer continues its technology transformation efforts across the region.

The companies did not reveal the financial value of the contract, though TCS described it as a multimillion-euro engagement covering Canada Life’s European operations.

As part of the project, TCS will help refresh Canada Life’s data centre environment, improve core infrastructure systems, support workplace technology, and streamline software management processes. The company will also bring artificial intelligence and automation tools into several areas of the technology estate to improve efficiency and day-to-day operations.

Canada Life expects the programme to strengthen the reliability of its technology platforms while helping teams respond more quickly to changing business needs. The insurer is also looking to simplify operations and improve service delivery through greater automation.

Caroline Dibbs, Chief Information and Transformation Officer for Canada Life Europe, said the company was looking for a partner that could support its long-term technology ambitions while sharing its focus on innovation and people.

She said the partnership marks the next phase of Canada Life’s efforts to modernise the technology foundations that support its business across Europe.

Vinay Singhvi, Head of UK and Ireland at TCS, said the company would draw on its experience in the financial services sector to help Canada Life build a stronger and more adaptable technology environment.

According to Singhvi, the engagement is expected to improve operational performance, increase resilience and provide a technology platform capable of supporting future growth.

The project will also create opportunities for TCS to expand its infrastructure services workforce in the UK, Ireland, Germany and the Isle of Man. The company said it plans to invest in employee training, certifications and professional development as part of the engagement.

The latest win adds to TCS’ growing portfolio of insurance-sector projects in Europe and further strengthens its presence in the banking, financial services and insurance market. The company also said the agreement supports its broader growth plans in the UK and Ireland, which remain important regions for serving insurance clients across Europe.
