Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has signed a multi-million-dollar, long-term agreement with global technology company ABB to modernise its worldwide network operations using artificial intelligence. The new deal further strengthens the partnership between the two companies, which has continued for more than 20 years.
As part of ABB’s Future Network Model initiative, TCS will build and manage a secure, AI-powered global network infrastructure. The company will deliver the project through its Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) model, taking responsibility for ABB’s complete global network operations instead of only managing selected infrastructure and applications.
The project includes setting up a Global Network Operations Centre (GNOC), implementing Service Integration and Management (SIAM), strengthening cybersecurity, and upgrading ABB’s local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and software-defined WAN (SD-WAN). TCS will also oversee network monitoring and orchestration across ABB’s multi-vendor environment to improve performance and reliability.
ABB Group CIO Alec Joannou said the Future Network Model is an important step in strengthening the company’s digital infrastructure. According to him, the initiative will help create a secure, resilient, and future-ready network that supports ABB’s long-term digital transformation strategy.
Anupam Singhal, President and Head of Manufacturing at TCS, said the company will integrate AI into ABB’s network operations to build intelligent systems capable of monitoring, adapting, and improving continuously. He added that the transformation is expected to enhance network reliability, security, scalability, and the overall user experience.
The latest agreement expands a long-standing relationship between TCS and ABB. Over the years, TCS has supported several key technology initiatives for ABB, including ERP consolidation, SAP transformation, and cloud modernisation projects.
Following the announcement, TCS shares gained around 5% on Monday, adding to the positive momentum after the company’s June-quarter financial results. TCS reported revenue of ₹72,275 crore for the quarter, reflecting a 13.9% year-on-year increase and marking its fourth consecutive quarter of sequential revenue growth. The company also secured $9.5 billion in new order bookings during the quarter.
TCS recently revealed that its annualised revenue from AI-driven projects has surpassed $2.6 billion, representing a 13.6% sequential increase, highlighting the growing demand for its artificial intelligence services across global enterprises.
