Snowflake and OpenAI have entered into a multi-year partnership valued at $200 million, aimed at bringing advanced artificial intelligence capabilities directly to enterprise customers and speeding up the adoption of AI agents across businesses worldwide.
As part of the agreement, OpenAI’s models will be offered natively to Snowflake’s more than 12,600 customers through Snowflake Cortex AI. The integration will be available across all three major cloud platforms and will be supported by joint product development and coordinated go-to-market efforts focused on enterprise-focused AI applications.
OpenAI models to be integrated into Snowflake’s enterprise AI platform
Snowflake said the collaboration allows organisations to build and deploy AI systems using their own data within a secure and governed environment. By combining enterprise data with OpenAI’s models, companies are expected to create AI agents that can operate responsibly while meeting compliance and security requirements.
The OpenAI models, including GPT-5.2, will also be accessible through Snowflake Intelligence, an enterprise AI agent that enables employees to query and act on organisational data using natural language. Snowflake said this setup will help businesses develop context-aware AI applications without losing control over data governance.
OpenAI said the partnership brings its models closer to where enterprise data already lives, reducing friction for companies looking to move from experimentation to real-world AI deployment. The integration is intended to make it easier for organisations to turn AI capabilities into practical business outcomes.
Several global companies are expected to use the combined platform to build AI-driven tools. Canva said the integration would allow it to test and scale new ideas while maintaining strong security controls, while WHOOP said it plans to use governed AI agents to improve internal decision-making.
The partnership also supports the development of customised AI agents capable of reasoning over enterprise data and taking action across multiple applications. Snowflake highlighted its 99.99% uptime commitment and built-in governance features as critical for meeting enterprise reliability standards.
The collaboration builds on an existing relationship between the two companies. OpenAI already relies on Snowflake for experiment tracking and analytics, while Snowflake uses ChatGPT Enterprise internally to support employee productivity.
Both companies said the goal of the partnership is to narrow the gap between what AI systems can do and how widely they are used in enterprise environments, with a focus on secure, large-scale deployment.
