Audio storytelling platform Pocket FM has partnered with OpenAI to strengthen its artificial intelligence–driven content strategy and better support its expanding community of creators worldwide.
As part of the collaboration, Pocket FM plans to integrate OpenAI’s APIs into its internal content production system. The integration is designed to help more than 300,000 writers on the platform generate, edit, translate, and scale audio series more efficiently. The initiative reflects the company’s broader vision of building what it describes as an AI-native entertainment ecosystem.
Through this partnership, OpenAI’s technology will become a core component of Pocket FM’s creator tools, enabling faster story development, smoother localisation, and wider distribution across different markets.
Pocket FM began reorganising its content infrastructure around generative AI in 2023. Since then, AI-powered titles have emerged as the platform’s fastest-growing category, expanding by nearly 30 percent month after month. Today, the platform hosts more than 100,000 AI-native audio series and records over 12 billion minutes of listening each month.
According to Prateek Dixit, Co-founder responsible for Product, Technology and AI at Pocket FM, artificial intelligence sits at the heart of the company’s long-term strategy. He noted that combining OpenAI’s APIs with the platform’s existing creator ecosystem and production tools allows individual writers anywhere in the world to produce and publish high-quality audio content that can reach millions of listeners — similar to the output of a full production studio.
The collaboration is also expected to enhance the platform’s multilingual capabilities. By using OpenAI’s translation and language technologies, creators will be able to adapt their stories for different regions more quickly, helping popular titles reach audiences beyond their original markets.
