OpenAI has launched a new initiative titled “Chats for College Students in India,” highlighting how students nationwide are using ChatGPT to learn, upskill, and manage different aspects of college life. The collection features over 50 real prompts created and ranked by students through the ChatGPT Lab program.

The curated set of chats captures the diversity of student experiences — from exam preparation and study planning to learning new languages, exploring creative ideas, and handling daily challenges. Some prompts simplify difficult subjects like fluid mechanics or operating systems, while others help users craft professional emails, plan trips, or explore career opportunities.

Among the examples, one student prompt reads, “I have an Operating Systems test tomorrow. Teach me everything important from the exam perspective using any interactive method.”

Another asks, “Create a day-by-day study schedule for my semester exams with revision, breaks, and mock tests.” Other creative requests include, “Teach me why things float as if you are Archimedes,” and “Make a story-style example to understand investment appraisal,” as well as practical ones like “I’m stuck between joining the media cell or the partnership cell — give me a pros and cons table to help decide.”

Pragya Misra, Director of Public Affairs & Partnerships at OpenAI India, shared that the new initiative celebrates the ingenuity of Indian students. “Our ‘Chats for College Students in India’ collection showcases over 50 examples of brilliance in action. It reflects our dedication to collaborating with and learning from India’s vibrant ecosystem,” she posted on LinkedIn.

Misra added that it is inspiring to see education emerge as ChatGPT’s leading use case in India. She noted that students are using the tool not merely to get answers, but to strengthen their critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

The initiative underscores how generative AI is becoming an integral part of Indian college life — serving not as a shortcut, but as a valuable support system that fosters curiosity, creativity, and self-guided learning.
