IFFI and LTIMindtree Launch India’s First Digital Storytelling Festival

LTIMindtree has joined forces with the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) and the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, to introduce India’s first Film Festival and Hackathon focused on advanced digital storytelling.

This event is scheduled to take place from November 20 to 28, 2025, during the 56th edition of IFFI in Goa.

Since 1952, the International Film Festival of India has served as a global stage for celebrating cinematic excellence.

Organized collaboratively by the NFDC, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, and the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG), IFFI highlights exceptional international and Indian films while promoting creative exchange among filmmakers, artists, and industry experts worldwide.

The festival will feature films created using cutting-edge digital tools across categories like fiction, documentary, animation, and experimental cinema.

A 48-hour hackathon will challenge creators and developers to design innovative storytelling tools powered by emerging technologies.

Attendees can also participate in workshops and masterclasses exploring technology in film production, ethical storytelling, and creative innovation.

Exploring the Future of Cinematic Innovation

Through this collaboration, LTIMindtree BlueVerse CraftStudio and NFDC aim to establish a platform that examines the intersection of cinema and modern technological advances, according to an official statement.

The Film Festival and Hackathon will offer filmmakers, creators, and technologists a space to experiment with digital storytelling tools and present creative examples that could shape the future of cinematic expression.

This initiative underscores IFFI’s dedication to embracing technological progress while fostering creativity, positioning India as a leader in the evolution of cinema.

Shekhar Kapur, festival director of IFFI, said, “Cinema has always reflected the power of human imagination. Today, new technologies provide a lens that expands our ability to dream, design, and express. The Film Festival will be a playground for that evolution.” Sujay Sen, executive vice president of LTIMindtree, added, “We are proud to create a platform that encourages innovation and brings modern storytelling techniques to India’s creative sector.” Prakash Magdum, managing director of NFDC, noted, “IFFI has always celebrated emerging voices and technologies. Partnering with LTIMindtree and Shekhar Kapur allows us to continue this legacy responsibly, inclusively, and with a vision for global collaboration.”
