HCLSoftware and Sify Technologies have teamed up to launch a sovereign AI offering for Indian enterprises. The goal is simple — help organisations adopt AI while keeping data within India’s regulatory boundaries.

The partnership focuses on delivering a managed, ready-to-use AI stack built on compliant local infrastructure.

Building a Full-Stack Sovereign AI Ecosystem

Under the collaboration, Sify will provide what it calls a Sovereign AI Foundation, which includes compliant data centre infrastructure, platform services, foundation models and solution blueprints. HCLSoftware will add enterprise applications developed in India that are designed to run on this foundation and integrate AI across business functions.

The combined solution will be offered as a subscription-based, turnkey model described as “Sovereign AI Foundation + Applications.” It is positioned as a managed service aimed at accelerating AI adoption without requiring enterprises to build their own infrastructure from scratch.

The companies said the integration brings together Sify’s government-compliant sovereign data centres and HCLSoftware’s enterprise software portfolio to create a full AI stack for both private enterprises and public sector organisations. HCLSoftware’s applications will operate on Sify’s infrastructure, with Sify expected to serve as the primary managed service provider.

In its initial phase, the partnership will focus on AI-enabled collaboration, IT operations, cybersecurity and infrastructure management. Sovereign collaboration platforms powered by HCL Domino will incorporate embedded AI capabilities. IT operations will leverage HCL BigFix for unified endpoint and asset management, supported by AI-driven automation workflows.

On the security front, HCL AppScan will be used to detect vulnerabilities early in the software lifecycle, with AI assisting in code remediation and secure coding practices.

The companies also plan to roll out the HCL AION platform in the future, allowing enterprises to build, deploy and manage the complete AI lifecycle on Sify’s sovereign AI infrastructure.

The offering is aimed at regulated sectors such as banking and financial services, healthcare and government, where compliance, data sovereignty and operational control remain central to digital transformation initiatives.
