Google Introduces AI Video Generation in Gemini App

Google has rolled out a major update to its Gemini app, adding a powerful new feature that turns simple text prompts and images into short, 8-second AI-generated videos with voice, movement, and sound. On Saturday, Google’s official Made by Google account on X (formerly Twitter) previewed the feature, showcasing how effortlessly Gemini can transform a short description into a polished video clip.

How the Google AI Video Generator Works

In the demonstration, Google used an image of two potted plants along with the prompt: “Two animated houseplants in this living room invite us to a housewarming party at Emily’s this Sunday at noon.” Gemini quickly produced a video where the plants came to life, speaking and moving naturally, accompanied by fitting background music and sound effects. The short clip concluded with the message, “Create unique invitations with video generation in Gemini.” This new tool highlights Google’s effort to make creative AI tools simple and usable for anyone—no editing experience required.

Who Can Access the Gemini AI Video Tool

At the moment, the video-creation feature is restricted to paying users subscribed to Google’s AI Pro or AI Ultra plans. Free-tier users can only watch AI-generated clips but cannot produce their own videos unless granted temporary promotional access. As mentioned in Google’s official documentation, individuals with personal accounts must have an active Pro or Ultra plan to unlock the video-generation capability.

How to Get Google AI Pro at No Cost

Reliance Jio has launched an exclusive offer bundling an 18-month Google AI Pro subscription (worth ₹3,500) with select 5G Unlimited plans priced at ₹349 or more. Both prepaid and postpaid users can take advantage of this deal, enjoying full access to Gemini’s premium AI tools without paying extra for the subscription period.

Creativity Made Simple and Accessible

The latest Gemini upgrade merges creativity with ease of use, empowering users to make short, customized videos directly from words or pictures. With Jio’s promotional bundle, millions of users across India can now experiment with AI-driven video creation for free. This step further demonstrates Google’s growing commitment to integrating generative AI into everyday experiences, making digital creativity more inclusive and engaging for all.
