The Delhi Government is increasingly turning to tech companies and AI startups to make governance smoother and public services more effective.

The idea is simple—use artificial intelligence across departments to speed things up, improve transparency, and make better decisions. To do this, the government is working with startups, tech firms, and research institutions to build AI-based solutions in areas like education, transport, urban planning, and even air quality monitoring.

Officials are already exploring tools such as predictive analytics, automation, and data platforms to reduce delays and make administrative work more efficient. These technologies could play a role in managing traffic, improving public safety, planning cities better, and resolving citizen complaints faster.

There’s also a strong belief that startups bring fresh ideas and speed, helping the government roll out practical solutions more quickly. At the same time, this push supports a larger goal—building a stronger, digitally driven public infrastructure.

This move is part of a wider shift happening across India, where governments are adopting new technologies and working more closely with private players and startups. It also reflects a growing focus on data-driven governance, where decisions are backed by insights rather than guesswork.

Going forward, the Delhi government is expected to deepen these partnerships, with AI playing a bigger role in modernising how governance works.

Meanwhile, at the national level, concerns around AI are also being raised. Nirmala Sitharaman recently pointed out potential risks from advanced AI systems like Claude Mythos. She warned that India’s banking sector may need stronger and more flexible systems to deal with emerging cyber threats driven by such technologies.
