Amazon has launched a new Alexa+ feature that lets users create podcast episodes simply by asking for them. The company says the tool is designed to make podcast-style content faster and easier to access without requiring any technical setup.

The feature, called “Alexa Podcasts,” is now rolling out to Alexa+ users in the United States. With a voice command, users can ask Alexa+ to create a podcast on almost any topic they want to learn about.

Unlike traditional podcast creation tools, users do not need to upload documents, prepare scripts, or plan the episode in advance. Alexa+ handles the research on its own, gathers information related to the topic, and first shares a short summary of what the episode will cover. Users can then adjust things like the length, tone, or focus before the final version is generated.

After everything is finalized, the podcast is narrated using AI-generated voices that sound similar to real podcast hosts. Once ready, users receive a notification through the Alexa app and Echo Show devices. The episodes are also saved inside the app for future listening.

The new update shows Amazon’s broader plan to turn Alexa+ into something more than a regular voice assistant. Along with answering questions and managing smart home devices, Alexa+ is now moving toward personalized AI-generated content experiences.

At the same time, the feature may also lead to discussions around the growing use of AI-generated media. Many experts continue to debate concerns related to accuracy, misinformation, ethics, and the impact AI tools could have on human creators and traditional content production.

Amazon says it is trying to improve the reliability of Alexa+ by working with several major news publishers and media organizations. According to the company, Alexa+ can pull real-time information from partners including the Associated Press, Reuters, The Washington Post, Time, Forbes, Business Insider, Politico, USA Today, Vox Media, Hearst, Condé Nast, and hundreds of local newspapers across the United States.

The company also hinted at future plans for more personalized AI audio experiences, including custom news briefings and audio content created using users’ own documents and shared information.
