Strengthening ABB’s Hosting and Digital Operations

TCS has extended its 18-year collaboration with ABB, a global leader in electrification and automation.

The renewed partnership focuses on modernizing ABB’s global hosting operations, simplifying its IT environment, and strengthening its digital infrastructure to boost resilience and innovation.

Under this multi-year engagement, TCS will implement ABB’s Future Hosting Model, a next-generation modular IT framework designed to optimize and streamline systems.

This model will facilitate predictive operations, faster service restoration, and continuous security management through its AI-driven Zero Ops framework.

The extension reinforces a well-established collaboration that has already contributed to notable progress for ABB.

TCS will accelerate ABB’s Core Platform strategy, emphasizing large-scale modernization, enhanced self-service and automation, cloud migration, and improved orchestration and resilience.

Alec Joannou, group CIO of ABB, stated, “Our strengthened partnership with TCS enhances ABB’s ability to deliver value to customers. Modernizing our hosting operations creates a foundation for greater agility, faster innovation, and improved reliability across the business.”

ABB plans to transform its hosting environment by leveraging advanced technologies that support innovation, operational efficiency, and optimization.

This transformation supports evolving business requirements by providing increased flexibility, higher quality, and cost efficiency.

TCS’ AI-based framework will ensure business continuity and high-quality service delivery across ABB’s global operations by reducing human intervention.

Anupam Singhal, president (manufacturing) at TCS, said, “This engagement is guided by a shared vision: technology should empower people, enhance agility, and enable intelligent and responsible operations.”

TCS’ managed services platform will provide flexibility to accommodate ABB’s business integration needs, including mergers, acquisitions, and carveouts.

Building on 18 Years of Collaboration

By establishing an innovative environment based on a cloud-first strategy and data-driven governance, TCS will support ABB in reducing its carbon footprint.

Over the past 18 years, TCS has assisted ABB in initiatives such as ERP implementation, cloud migration, and data center consolidation.

The new engagement will expand on this foundation to transform ABB’s infrastructure services and drive adoption of modernized systems, enabling ABB’s next phase of growth in electrification and automation and delivering greater business value.

Peter Alkema, global head of IS technology and platforms at ABB, said, “ABB is committed to creating a modular, scalable hosting service that fosters agility and innovation. With TCS as our strategic partner, the Future Hosting Model strengthens this commitment and ensures operational excellence.”

TCS currently serves over 350 clients from 62 offices across 21 countries in Europe.
