The Rajasthan government’s Agriculture Department has partnered with Wadhwani AI Foundation, through Lords Education Group, to bring artificial intelligence-based solutions to the state’s agriculture sector and improve support services for farmers.
The non-financial memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed at Pant Krishi Bhawan in Jaipur in the presence of senior department officials. Under the agreement, Wadhwani AI will offer technical assistance to the government for the next three years without any financial cost to the state.
Agriculture Commissioner Naresh Kumar Goyal said the collaboration is part of Rajasthan’s larger vision to develop AI-powered agriculture models and set up a centre of excellence focused on AI-driven farming and rural development services.
The department revealed that nearly 95 lakh farmers in Rajasthan have already been issued digital farmer IDs. These records are linked with land details, khasra information, and Aadhaar credentials, helping create a strong digital agriculture database for services such as crop insurance, fertiliser distribution tracking, and urea monitoring.
As part of the initiative, multiple AI-based platforms will be introduced to strengthen agricultural advisory services and improve farmer engagement.
One of the key tools, Agrivani, is a multilingual AI chatbot that will allow farmers to communicate through voice or text in regional languages and receive farming advice and support.
Another platform, CropAce, uses computer vision technology to identify crop diseases and pest attacks through farm images uploaded by farmers. The system will also provide expert-verified treatment recommendations.
The partnership will additionally introduce a smartphone-based Soybean Grain Analyser app designed to help farmers digitally evaluate soybean quality, grading, and protein levels.
Along with this, the Agri AI Collect and News Monitoring platform will assist officials with digital field data management and agriculture-related monitoring for better administrative decision-making.
Officials said the collaboration highlights the increasing adoption of AI and digital technologies in Indian agriculture, especially in areas like crop monitoring, farmer advisory services, agricultural databases, and governance systems.
