EaseMyTrip has entered into a strategic partnership with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Sanatan AI, and the Bhagva platform to roll out a nationwide entrepreneurship programme aimed at organising India’s rapidly expanding spiritual services sector.
The initiative focuses on transforming pandits, pujaris, and Sanskrit-educated youth into certified micro-entrepreneurs. This will be achieved through structured training, standardized service models, and access to formal financing. The programme is designed to operate at the panchayat level, with plans to scale across nearly two lakh panchayats over the next five years.
A key feature of the model is the introduction of EV-powered mobile units called ‘Shop on Wheels’. These units will act as local spiritual service hubs, offering services such as pooja bookings, access to ritual materials, religious travel planning, virtual darshan, and organising events like kathas and jagrans. The focus is primarily on rural and semi-urban regions, where such services are often unorganised and scattered.
As part of the collaboration, EaseMyTrip will integrate its travel services into this decentralised network, enabling easier access to pilgrimage and religious tourism options. This move aligns with the company’s broader strategy to strengthen its presence in the growing religious tourism market and expand beyond urban customer bases.
Founder and Chairman Nishant Pitti stated that the initiative aims to build a scalable ecosystem combining skill development, service consistency, and market access. He added that integrating travel services will help improve accessibility while supporting traditional service providers in transitioning into a more structured economic framework.
The programme will also establish a structured pipeline for participants, covering mobilisation, training, certification, and onboarding. Eligible individuals will have access to funding support through a MUDRA-linked financing model, helping them set up and run their own units.
Overall, the initiative reflects a broader push into India’s fast-growing spiritual economy, which includes pilgrimage travel, religious events, and related services. With rising domestic travel and renewed cultural interest, EaseMyTrip aims to tap into underserved markets by building a grassroots-level distribution network. The involvement of NSDC further strengthens the initiative by aligning it with national skill development and entrepreneurship goals.
