Firstsource Solutions is trying to change how companies actually use AI in their day-to-day operations. With the launch of its new model, “Intelligence That Operates,” the company is making a clear push to move beyond AI experiments and focus on real business results.

For many enterprises, AI has been more of a promise than a reality so far. Despite rising investments, a lot of projects never make it past the pilot stage. And even when they do, the outcomes are often unclear. Firstsource believes the problem isn’t the technology itself—it’s the way it’s being rolled out.

According to the company, most organizations still rely on fragmented setups, working with multiple vendors across different stages of AI deployment. This often leads to gaps in execution and, more importantly, no clear ownership when things don’t deliver as expected.

CEO Ritesh Idnani says the company has been thinking about this shift for a while. The earlier UnBPO concept was built around the idea that intelligence—not manual effort—would eventually become the core of business operations. With this new model, Firstsource is taking that idea a step further by putting its name behind the outcomes.

Instead of just offering tools or consulting, the company wants to handle the entire process. That includes designing how the system should work, building the AI layer, and running it in live environments. More importantly, it takes responsibility for how well it performs.

The model itself is built around a few simple but important ideas: strong domain understanding, end-to-end execution, systems that keep learning over time, clear accountability, and a controlled level of autonomy. In simple terms, it’s about making AI practical, reliable, and measurable.

Another key part of the approach is continuous improvement. The AI systems are designed to learn from real decisions and data generated during operations, which helps them get better and more accurate over time.

Industry experts see this as a step in the right direction. There’s been a lot of discussion around AI’s potential, but less clarity on execution. A model that combines everything under one roof—and ties it directly to outcomes—could help close that gap.

For companies operating in highly regulated sectors, this kind of accountability is especially important. Having a partner that is directly involved in operations and responsible for performance can make a big difference.

With “Intelligence That Operates,” Firstsource is essentially putting forward a simple idea: AI should not just exist—it should work, deliver, and be accountable.
