LTM has joined hands with Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur to roll out specialised training programmes aimed at boosting artificial intelligence capabilities across its workforce. The move is part of a larger effort to keep employee skills aligned with changing enterprise needs and client expectations.

Under this partnership, employees will gain access to focused AI learning modules, practical workshops, and collaborative research initiatives. The idea is not just to teach theory, but to build real-world, project-driven expertise that can be applied directly in client engagements.

Gururaj Deshpande, Chief Delivery Officer at LTM, said the collaboration builds on the company’s existing internal training efforts while adding a deeper layer of technical and research exposure. He noted that combining academic strength with industry application is key to preparing teams for an AI-driven future.

He also explained that while LTM already invests heavily in internal upskilling, working with a leading academic institution brings fresh research insights and advanced technical knowledge. According to him, such collaborations help strengthen the company’s ability to deliver responsible and relevant AI solutions.

From the academic side, Prof. Niloy Ganguly, Head of the Computer Science and Engineering department at IIT Kharagpur, highlighted that the institute will contribute its research expertise and academic resources. He added that partnerships like this help extend classroom knowledge into real industry use cases, creating meaningful learning and innovation opportunities.

The training programmes will be closely tied to client needs, ensuring that employees develop skills that are directly applicable in real business scenarios. Deshpande emphasised that this approach will help teams turn technical knowledge into measurable business outcomes.

He also revealed that around 85% of LTM’s workforce has already undergone some form of AI training through internal initiatives. This new collaboration is expected to deepen that learning further, with participation based on project requirements and client priorities rather than fixed enrolment.

Overall, the initiative is designed to strengthen LTM’s ability to drive AI-led transformation for its clients. By building both technical expertise and domain-specific AI skills, the company aims to help businesses adopt AI solutions with greater clarity and confidence.

Importantly, this is not a short-term training effort. Both LTM and IIT Kharagpur see it as a long-term partnership focused on continuous learning, innovation, and sustained capability development across teams.
