Google has made its AI Plus subscription available in India, extending the lower-priced plan to all regions where the company offers paid AI services.
The expansion adds 35 new countries and territories and completes a rollout that began last September with an initial launch in Indonesia. With this move, AI Plus is now available across Google’s entire AI subscription footprint.
For Indian users, the plan costs ₹399 per month, with an introductory price of ₹199 per month for the first six months. Subscribers get access to Gemini 3 Pro, along with creative tools such as Nano Banana Pro and Flow. The package also includes research help through NotebookLM, 200GB of cloud storage, and the ability to share the subscription with family members.
Positioned Between Free Access and Premium AI Plans
Google said existing Google One Premium 2TB subscribers will start receiving AI Plus features automatically over the next few days, without needing to make any changes to their plans.
AI Plus was originally introduced with emerging markets in mind and sits between Google’s free AI tools and its more expensive offerings. It is aimed at users who want more from Gemini and other AI features but are not ready to move up to the Google AI Pro plan, which typically costs around $20 per month.
When Google announced AI Plus, it said the plan was meant to make creative tools such as Gemini and Veo easier to access, while also offering an alternative to lower-priced AI subscriptions like ChatGPT Go, which is priced at $8 per month in the US.
By placing AI Plus between its free tier and premium plans like AI Pro and AI Ultra, Google is trying to make paid AI tools feel more approachable for a wider group of users.
