Enterprise software major Zoho has introduced Zoho ERP, a new AI-native enterprise resource planning platform developed entirely in India. The company positions the solution as a strong domestic alternative to global ERP systems, especially for fast-growing Indian businesses looking to expand both locally and internationally.

Zoho said the platform has been designed to remove long-standing challenges associated with traditional ERP software, such as rigid system structures, high implementation costs, and heavy dependence on external consultants. Instead, Zoho ERP aims to offer flexibility, scalability, and faster adoption for modern enterprises.

AI Embedded at the Core of Zoho ERP

Unlike legacy ERP platforms that typically bolt artificial intelligence onto existing systems, Zoho ERP integrates AI deeply across its core architecture. The platform supports AI-driven customisation, workflow automation, predictive analytics, anomaly detection, and voice-based assistance through Zoho’s AI assistant, Ask Zia. These features provide businesses with real-time visibility into financial and operational performance.

Shailesh Davey, CEO and co-founder of Zoho Corp, said the platform represents a compliance-ready and future-focused ERP solution built as a homegrown alternative to global offerings. He highlighted that Zoho ERP was developed by teams based in Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu, and noted the company’s intention to continue driving innovation from the region.

Davey added that by creating technology jobs for local youth, Zoho is helping reduce talent migration while strengthening regional economies through indigenously built software solutions.

Sivaramakrishnan Iswaran, global head of Zoho’s Finance and Operations Business Unit and CEO of Zoho Payment Technologies, said the platform mirrors how today’s businesses operate. According to him, Zoho ERP brings together fintech, banking, and enterprise software, offering built-in local compliance, role-based user experiences, and improved operational efficiency.

Zoho ERP combines key business functions such as financial management, billing, spend control, supply chain operations, payroll, and omnichannel commerce within a single system. It also includes asset tracking, budgeting tools, continuous financial close capabilities, detailed audit trails, and strong internal controls.

The platform complies with Indian regulatory requirements, including GST and e-invoicing, and supports global accounting standards such as IFRS 15 and ASC 606 for revenue recognition. Payroll features are tailored to Indian regulations, covering EPF, ESI, TDS, Professional Tax, and Labour Welfare Fund obligations.

In its initial release, Zoho ERP offers industry-specific features for manufacturing, distribution, retail, and non-profit organisations. Manufacturing businesses can manage end-to-end production processes, while distribution companies can optimise inventory management, dealer networks, and field sales operations. Zoho said additional vertical-focused capabilities will be rolled out in future updates.
