OpenAI and ServiceNow have entered into a three-year partnership aimed at bringing advanced artificial intelligence directly into enterprise software used by large organisations worldwide. The agreement focuses on integrating OpenAI’s AI models into ServiceNow’s platform as businesses look to automate routine work and reduce manual processes.

Under the deal, OpenAI will become a preferred intelligence provider for enterprises operating on the ServiceNow platform, which supports more than 80 billion workflows every year. Customers will gain access to OpenAI models, including GPT-5.2, along with native voice and speech-to-speech features built into ServiceNow’s products.

The commercial structure of the partnership is tied to how many customers adopt OpenAI’s technology through ServiceNow and includes a revenue commitment from ServiceNow to OpenAI. The companies did not disclose financial details.

AI Agents Move From Experiments to Everyday Business Tasks

The partnership reflects a wider shift in enterprise software, where companies are moving beyond limited AI trials toward systems that can take action on behalf of users. Competing software providers are already promoting built-in AI agents as a way to deliver faster outcomes and improve productivity across business functions.

For OpenAI, the collaboration strengthens its enterprise presence by placing its models inside widely used corporate systems, complementing its direct sales of AI tools. ServiceNow executives said the partnership is designed to help companies move more quickly from testing AI features to using them across their operations.

ServiceNow plans to use OpenAI’s models to power natural language assistance, automated summaries for incidents and service requests, content generation, and intelligent search across enterprise systems. Employees will be able to make requests in plain language, such as checking benefits or escalating a customer issue, with the platform not only responding but also carrying out the required actions.

ServiceNow engineers will develop the new AI-powered features with technical support from OpenAI, while forward-deployed engineering teams will help customers implement and adopt the tools. Despite the collaboration, ServiceNow said it will continue to keep its platform open to multiple AI model providers, allowing flexibility based on different business needs.

The growing use of AI agents is expected to add pressure to the IT job market, which has already seen slower hiring as companies increase investment in automation. OpenAI leadership said combining advanced AI models with enterprise software allows organisations to handle complex work from start to finish, even in demanding environments.

ServiceNow said the partnership builds on OpenAI’s existing relationships with large enterprises already using its technology across sectors such as consulting, finance, retail, healthcare, and manufacturing. OpenAI added that more than one million business customers worldwide are currently using its services.

Last year, OpenAI also entered into a multi-year collaboration with an Indian IT services company to support large-scale enterprise AI adoption, marking one of its early strategic service partnerships.
