Google has introduced a new AI-powered feature aimed at simplifying how users schedule meetings through Gmail and Google Calendar. The tool, called “Help me schedule,” is powered by Gemini and helps users find suitable meeting times based on their availability, then offers these suggestions directly in an email to the intended recipient.
This scheduling assistant is specifically designed for one-on-one meetings, rather than group or multi-person appointments. By narrowing its focus, the tool is better able to tailor suggestions that match the individual schedules of both participants involved in the meeting.
The feature is part of a broader wave of AI integrations rolling out across Google Workspace tools. Alongside this, Google also revealed updates to other products — including a new image editing model called Nano Banana, AI-powered enhancements to Google Slides, improved video tools in Google Vids, and options for users to share custom AI assistants (Gems) with colleagues.

To use the scheduling tool, users will notice a “Help me schedule” button appear beneath the Gmail compose window. Clicking this will bring up a list of available times based on the user’s Google Calendar. These can be edited or customized before being inserted directly into the body of the email. Once the recipient selects a time, the meeting is automatically added to both participants’ calendars.
What sets Google’s new feature apart is its use of contextual understanding, thanks to Gemini’s AI capabilities. If, for example, someone mentions in the email that they’re looking for a 30-minute meeting before the end of the week, the assistant will tailor its suggestions to offer only half-hour time slots that fit that timeframe.
Although there are already popular scheduling services such as Calendly, Zoom, Doodle, and HubSpot, Google’s tool aims to offer a more seamless experience by being deeply embedded into Gmail and Calendar, and by using AI to interpret the intent behind the message.
In a separate update, Google also announced improvements to another Workspace app — Google Keep. From now on, any reminders created in Google Keep will automatically sync with Google Tasks, making it easier for users to manage their to-do lists and reminders across different tools.
